Simplicity + The Play Date Cafe

I discovered a new challenge site - Simplicity - via Danielle Daws, via Just Add Ink (don't you just love hyperlinks?).

The challenge is called One Layer Wednesday! After making cards with at least 3 layers, this was a definite challenge. OLW 37 is just sentiments or really - just words as definition stamps are allowed. To up the ante, I thought I'd do the Play Date Cafe Challenge 665 - the colours and inspiration (Quentin Blake) are just delightful.

Like my entry into CSC #23 - this card made me smile every step of the way. In fact, it made me smile through to another card. so quick, simple, so fun!

So which one will I enter. It probably doesn't matter but I'll pick the 2nd one. I just had to add that ribbon to make the green pop a bit more.

Here's a bit more detail about this card...

First, I put the "hi" mask on (Tim Holtz) and stamped over with Hero Arts Friends definition stamp inked with Spiced Marmalade and Shabby Shutters. I blended the colours a little. Then I stamped "thinking of you" (Stampin Up) and was delighted that all the fonts actually match!

Finally, the ribbon - just through 2 slits. Maybe I'll make a tutorial for that as it's really simple and I've not come acros on the web.

That's 4 cards for challenges in 1 night. I'm so pleased with myself. :-)

  3. Oh, yes, I like that second one because the little bit of ribbon tied around the "i" is an unexpected touch. Sooooo glad you like the challenge colors, and thanks for coming to the Cafe to play!
