I struggled to find a suitable image actually. Here's what I settled for and after the first attempt, decided it was to 'chirpy', pardon the visual pun. So, I had another go and muted it a bit by masking and sponging over the stamped image. Now, I'm not quite sure which one I prefer.

Second attempt |
stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Sing a Song (?), Stampin Up Teeny Tiny Sentiments
inks: (1) Versafine Sepia (a bit mottled but better this way I think), Colorbox chalk ink in black
(2) SU Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Which one's better or are they both bad?
Hello there, I disagree, I think your cards are perfect, the first is clearer, so I like that slightly more but you've nailed the challenge:0) Wasn't it a challenge to have no flowers though! :0) xxx
ReplyDeleteTough challenge indeed but I feel that both of your cards would be comforting, so fit the brief just great - personally, I slightly prefer the second.

I like both cards - although I slightly prefer the second - I like the colours. But I'm sure Susan said no trees or flowers ;))))
ReplyDeletegreat cards,(neither is bad,but i prefer the first.)
ReplyDeleteLovely, both of them! I do slightly prefer the second...the somber colors suit the mood so well.
ReplyDeleteA lovely card design and I like both colour treatments.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a tough challenge! You've done a great job though...never thought to use a bird...how perfect is that!
ReplyDeleteReally wonderful cards, esp the first one! Love that bird!
ReplyDeleteHi Malyn, Both versions are great, i just love that image.
